DIY Coffee Ground Scrub [ENG]

Did you know that conventional body scrubs might contain hidden micro-plastics? These tiny plastics pollute our oceans, harm marine life and can irritate our skin. Instead, try natural scrubs for gentle exfoliation!

Do you have leftover coffee grounds after your morning brew? Don't toss them away! Coffee grounds can be used to create a fantastic coffee scrub that offers numerous benefits to your skin. This scrub is easy to make, budget-friendly, and packed with natural ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts coffee grounds

  • 1 part coconut oil (solid or liquid)

  • 1/2 part brown sugar

  • 5 drops essential oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix coffee grounds, coconut oil, and brown sugar in a bowl.

  2. Add essential oil if you desire a fragrant scrub.

  3. Stir well until all ingredients are combined.

  4. Store the scrub in an airtight container.

Benefits of Coffee Ground Scrub:

  • Removes dead skin cells: Coffee grounds act as a natural exfoliant, removing dead skin cells and leaving the skin soft and smooth.

  • Stimulates blood circulation: Massaging with the coffee scrub can help stimulate blood circulation in the skin.

  • Provides antioxidant effects: Coffee grounds contain antioxidants that can protect the skin against free radicals.

Variations:

  • For a more exfoliating scrub: Add 1/4 part of sea salt or fine sugar

  • For a moisturizing scrub: Add 1/4 part of honey or yogurt

  • For an aromatic scrub: Add 5-10 drops of your favourite essential oil

Tips:

  • Store the scrub in the refrigerator to extend its shelf life

  • Avoid using the scrub on your face as it may be too abrasive

Precaution: Coffee grounds can be abrasive, so we recommend to do a patch test on a small area of your skin before applying it all over. If you experience any irritation, discontinue usage.
