Indo Naturals Bazaar Beeswax Candles [ENG]

Our Beeswax Candles are developed using Himalayan beeswax, with the purpose of giving you relaxation and mindfulness in the ambiance of candlelight, without the sooth of paraffin candles. In addition to the ambiance and natural aromas of our candles, we are creating guided mindfulness audio session for each candle that we are developing. This way, we wish to help you relax, ground yourself and rebalance in a hectic everyday life using various mindfulness practices.

"Find tranquility and recenter with our beeswax

candles and everyday mindfulness sessions."

Our candles are crafted in the Himalayan foothills by village women using local beeswax from the Himalayan forager bees. The making of the candle contributes to women’s empowerment and rural livelihood opportunities. The candle has a long burning time and gives a mild and natural scent without synthetic fumes.

Our Beeswax Candles are part of Indo Naturals Bazaar, our model where we bring you various unique quality pieces, made ethically using natural and responsible raw materials. While our trademark brand Indo Naturals focuses on helping you reduce plastic and live more naturally, our Bazaar opens the horizon to a wider selection of natural products, helping you replace low-quality and synthetic products and enjoy quality that lasts, does not pollute the world, contain potentially harmful synthetics or exploit workers.

Hill Honey: Unscented

Unwind in the calming ambiance of Hill Honey

Hill Honey is our unscented beeswax candle, and the first in our series of natural mindfulness candles. It gives a faint scent of beeswax, has a large bright flame, and is long-lasting (around 45 hours). The name; Hill Honey is inspired by the source of the beeswax.

Guided Mindfulness Sessions

Soon we'll be uploading Guided Mindfulness Audio Tracks on YouTube so you find calm and balance in everyday life, whatever time works best for you. We encourage you to use the candles as a tool, either through candle gazing (Trataka), focusing on the flame to enhance concentration and mindfulness, or simply through the calming ambiance and flickering light of the candle.

Each candle has its own mindfulness variation, with a guided session incorporating the candle scent to help further deepen the state of peace and recentering. You'll notice that each candle is a continuation of another candle and its mindfulness practice, and each candle is followed by another, through a full day, that starts in a field of Wild Flowers and ends on a cliff overlooking the Moonlight Shimmer. When the day is over, you will have gone through a variety of different mindfulness practices. We hope to have helped you rebalance and reach inner peace.

The Story

Development: For inner peace and rebalancing

We believe the hectic everyday lifestyle of most is taking away our connection to both ourselves, nature, and each other. We, therefore, developed our candles and mindfulness sessions with the intention of helping bring peace and rebalancing to everyday life with the ambiance of candlelight, pleasant natural scents, and our audio sessions as tools to more easily reach a calmer state of mind and a recentering of thoughts.

Our candles are created using only natural ingredients. It took us a long time to find the right formulations, with the right calming scent, for the nose, and color, for the eyes. It is rare to find candles that are free from synthetic fragrances and colors. We hope you enjoy our candles to the fullest and cherish them as precious pieces of nature.

Raw Material: It all starts with the bees

The wax is sourced in the foothills of the Himalayas from the Himalayan forager bees. These bees migrate seasonally between the cool Himalayan mountains and the warmer foothills. When they migrate up in the mountains in spring, the honey and beeswax left behind are harvested by local foragers that have been doing this practice for generations.

Crafting: Handmade by village women where the mountain meets the plains

The beeswax is taken to a women's program in Rishikesh, a city next to the holy Ganges river in the foothills of the Himalayas. The women melt and mold the wax into candles using simple tools such as metal molds. In the melding process, 2% coconut oil and 6% soy wax are incorporated to improve the burning quality of the candle. Natural essential oils and natural botanical powders are incorporated into the scented candles.

The candle making contributes to the economy of the women and their households. It also gives training in candle making, other handicraft skills as well as other organizational and administration skills. Last but not least, creating something of quality, that others will cherish, brings a sense of self-accomplishment and pride. These are all essential elements of empowerment - helping enable the women to stand up for their rights.

In addition, by supporting the women's program as a whole, you also support the many activities organized by the program. This includes skill training in new activities contributing the women's economic security, lessons in various topics such as women's health and hygiene as well as women's social standing, and empowerment. The women's program also facilitates group discussions where they can talk about issues and find solutions together. This helps make it easier to stand up for their rights and the rights of their daughters as they grow up.
